Breakfast is the meal we start our day with. While some people have the luxury and time of having it at home. But in our pursuit of life and money we don’t have enough time for breakfast at home . So this has been making us have breakfast outside. There are numerous options and cuisines even for breakfast , but as Indians we always do prefer traditional idli and dosa.
This is the story of a lady who runs a Tiffin center. Approximately aged 85 years she got into this business 40 years back . Being from a Brahmin family , making idlis of superior quality idlis has been inducted into her lineage. Having established her business near the temple , after their morning prayers in the temple they come to her for their breakfast. The taste of whatever she serves is quite famous in the surrounding regions and she has so many people waiting their turn at her small place. When she started into the business she had to grind the batter by herself using the stone grinder , now adapting to the electrical grinders her work has become a lot easier , she had been able to survive and support her family doing this. She attracts tourists also to her taste , and above all she has entrepreneurs and other restaurants buying the mix from her.
These days we live in an era where most of us stay away from our homes , this lady fulfills the role of a loving mother who serves her children food early in the morning , by 6 am in the morning she is in full form and serving , the aroma of the food is so pleasing, so she has to start her day around 4 am in the morning . Apart from serving food and satisfying people’s hunger in the morning she is devoted to what she does and this has brought her thus far and helped her thrive in the business. Apart from her business she is a mother of 4 children , out of them two are into the catering business and the other two are studying.
We have cultivated a practice of eating at nice fancy restaurants but the quality of food and hygiene she maintains is no match to what we find in the regular restaurants and other places. Buying breakfast from her not just helps her to do better but also helps us maintain our health as she provides food as if it is made at home. People like her often don’t survive in business these days , because they cannot get into sophisticated marketing strategies like the modern day entrepreneurs. But to encourage and buy from them is the least we can do for them .
